Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her show business career as a child. She played lead roles in television dramas from as early at the age of 16. She was praised for her performance of Der Tunnel. This paved the way for other unforgettable parts, such as Adolf Hitler's secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the actress. Alexandra was involved in numerous notable projects in both the US and abroad.
