Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the lead in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. Alexandra Maria Lara born as the only son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. At the age of 16, Alexandra played the leading part in a variety of television dramas. In the Oscar nominated film Downfall, her role as the Secretary Traudljunge of Adolf Hitler was also a critically-acclaimed one. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Over the years Alexandra was involved in numerous noteworthy national and international projects. The projects comprise British biographical films like Control and The Dust of Time as along with the French history mini-series Napoleon. Additionally, she was a member of both jury for the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
